Buffet Tables
A buffet table is one that is generally used for parties and even in restaurants and hotels. Generally, these are the tables where food is kept in stainless steel chafing and a pile of plates are placed on one end of the table. The buffet tables are generally covered with white linen cloth.
The buffet table can be decorated so that it looks good. This will make the food look nice too. Everyone remembers the first impression. So, decorate the buffet table in such a way that it looks appealing. Hence, the first thing is that your buffet table must be presented in such a way that will make people compliment you on your taste and sense of decoration.
Now the next thing is the placement of your buffet table. Generally, people place the table against a wall so that the space can be properly utilized. There are many other ways to place the buffet table but this one is the most common one. It is a very common setting in situations where space is limited with an increased amount of guests.
However, if you do not want an extended sitting arrangement, you can always place the buffet table in the middle of the room. If you choose this arrangement people can use the table from any side and your guests can serve themselves easily. This kind of arrangement is generally used for finger food buffet.
It is always advisable to place the drinks table away from the buffet table, for example across the room at one corner. It will lessen the rush around the buffet table and also minimize the drink spills, an otherwise common accident in parties.
When you are done with the proper setting up of a buffet table, your focus should be shifted towards the proper placement of food and plates etc. It should be done in such a way that the entire space of the buffet table is properly utilized. Also, make sure that food, napkins, plates etc are placed in a way that will make them easy for your guests to reach. You can also keep it in a continuous fashion, so that people can keep on moving to get the articles without creating rush at one spot.
Think of adding accessories to your buffet table. Use a runner or table cloth to cover your table and save it from shocks and scratches. Another good tip is to try to use napkin or spoon holders or any kind of baskets with heavy base. This will ensure that these things do not get knocked over.
